Two fishermen were being hailed as heroes last night after saving a pensioner who slipped off Brooklyn’s Canarsie pier and fell into Jamaica Bay.

A boozed-up New York detective accidentally shot his partner and then drunk drove him to the hospital, it was revealed last night.
