Kodaline love being heckled by Americans

IRISH indie rockers Kodaline enjoy touring America because they just love being heckled.

The Dublin band say the main difference between Irish and US audiences, is that the rowdy Americans like nothing better than shouting out during the middle of songs.

Explains Kodaline singer Steve Garrigan: “It’s different in every state because every state is kind of like its own country. But the main difference is they heckle. Positive things, like, ‘I’m having a great time.'”

“And they shout ‘yeah’ a lot,” guitarist Mark Prendergast adds. “And sometimes it’s during a quiet, acoustic song.

“It’s only in America – and you have to love it.”

The Irish foursome have enjoyed a whirlwind year, having released one of the biggest debut albums of the summer – it shot to number one in the Irish charts and number three in the UK charts.
