A maverick priest – dubbed the “Meth Monsignor” turned to selling drugs because he needed “to make more money,” a parishioner tells the New York Daily News.
Connecticut Pastor Kevin Wallin, 61, could face life in prison for his alleged role in a cross-country methamphetamine ring.
“He said he was moving, being transferred,” recalled parishioner Bernedine Jordan, 52, a substance abuse counselor.
“He said he really liked it here but he was going to somewhere where he could make more money.”
Federal prosecutors say Wallin’s money-making plan was a drug operation that stretched from Connecticut to California.
And sources say the one time holy man may have laundered drug money through an adult video store he owned.

DTI: as a former TSA posern, I have to say, I don’t really buy your claim that there is no line between a further phyiscal search of suspect luggage and a cavity inspection. The first is an act that constantly occurs at checkpoints, obviously and within public view. The second is totally outside the contemplation of TSA procedures, and would require law enforcement involvement. Surely it is possible to say that a traveler submitting bags at an airport checkpoint consents to the reasonable and normal continuation of the bag-search process, but not to an invasive cavity search that is NOT a normal part of the process.A little common sense goes a long way here. What I think is scarier about the current aviation security law is the very harsh penalties directed at possessing a dangerous weapon at a checkpoint with a scienter standard that the TSA asserts to be only a tort-style negligence. See , which on its own terms imposes strict felony liability (up to ten years!) for possessing a weapon while attempting to board an aircraft. While the statute, like its predecessor, will probably be interepreted to require at least tort negligence as a predicate to felony liability, it nevertheless makes a negligent act a pretty substantial felony. For instance, a comparable penalty is assigned to assault with a deadly weapon within the US maritime jurisdiction. See 18 USC 113 (imposing up to ten years imprisonment). Now that I find disturbing (although not nearly as disturbing as the crack/cocaine disparity). As far as airport searches go, it seems to me very reasonable to suggest that someone who has offered their bag to federal agents to be screened, has consented to the reasonable course of that screening.
Since there is so many fields of siepcalties that I have a choice of, I still really can’t choose one. So I am going base on my personal experiences. My original goal back in high school and maybe even before that, was to work in a Neonatal ICU! I had a brother that passed before he had his first birthday from heart complications, and that year I spent a lot of time at hospitals with my parents. My goal the first couple of years was to work with babies just like him. That was until I had my own children, I would of still loved to have worked in that career field but the heart ache I would most likely endure when one of those babies did not make it home. I could not have handled!On to more positive experiences, I have worked with the elderly and Geriatrics interests me very much. Being surrounded with people that have lived a fulfilled life is so much more rewarding. Even though at times it is the ending stages of their lives, and it is sad when someone does pass. It’s less of a heartache to know that most of the time they are ready to move on. They are still very dependent on you and when you are able to help them with their needs that’s the most rewarding of all, plus you form a special relationship with the patients and their families.

Reminiscent of the Washington Sate Patrol officer, 20 years or so ago, who sptoped a car for speeding. The driver, suffering from idiotic honesty, explained they were late for an appointment at the abortion clinic for his pregnant girlfriend.The fundy trooper then ordered him to follow him to a crisis pregnancy center , where they were harangued for a couple of hours before being allowed to leave.The couple complained, the trooper was disciplined. He then filed suit against the state for violating his freedom of religion. That, I’m happy to say, went exactly nowhere.Why is it so hard for these people to understand that their freedom of religion stops when acting as an agent of the state?
